Course on non-proliferation and disarmament law

The NIM Programme has contributed to the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament eLearning Course by developing Learning Unit 17 on Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Law. Sonia Drobysz and Yasemin Balci authored this learning unit, with assistance from Thomas Brown and production by the Leibniz-Institut Hessische Stiftung Friedens- und Konfliktforschung / Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (HSFK/PRIF).

Learning Unit 17 covers non-proliferation and disarmament law. It is meant for anyone interested in the legal aspects of non-proliferation and disarmament. In five chapters, the course addresses the following:

  1. non-proliferation and disarmament as an area of international law;
  2. related areas of international law;
  3. national implementation;
  4. national enforcement; and
  5. European non-proliferation and disarmament law.

The EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament eLearning Course is an initiative of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium and is funded by the European Union.

The Consortium consists of HSFK/PRIF, Fondation pour la recherche stratégique (FRS, Paris), the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS, London), Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), International Affairs Institute (IAI, Rome), and Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP).
