VERTIC participated in the Preparatory Committee for the Ninth Review Conference to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention, held in Geneva, Switzerland during 4 to 11 April 2022.
States Parties gathered in Geneva for this meeting to discuss the Articles of the treaty, as well as the functioning of the Review Conference and potential follow-on actions.
Legal Officer Thomas Brown, delivered VERTIC’s statement to the Preparatory Committee, highlighting our work on legislative implementation of the Convention and the need to strengthen the BWC.

During the Preparatory Committee it was decided that the Ninth Review Conference will take place from 28 November to 16 December 2022.
