On 22 November 2021 VERTIC and CRDF Global held a virtual side event to the 2020 Meeting of States Parties of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).
This event introduced a new project that is funded by the US Department of State to provide legislative assistance for national implementation of the BWC in Africa, Latin America and South East Asia. After opening remarks from Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins, US Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, CRDF Global and VERTIC outlined the different legislative assistance options, provided examples of possible national and regional project activities and highlighted the different ways in which BWC States Parties can participate in the project.
