On September 9 Senior Researcher Elena Gai made a presentation on ‘Building Capacity on Multilateral Verification of Nuclear Disarmament: Options for Broadening and Sustaining Involvement Globally’ within the framework of the ’21 SPS Aachen Conference.
She provided lessons from the field in bridging the gap between science and politics, a goal very close to the mission of VERTIC. The project ‘‘Building Capacity on Multilateral Verification of Nuclear Disarmament’, implemented by VERTIC in partnership with the NPS Global Foundation in Argentina, the International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC) in Kazakhstan and the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, supports the development of practical and effective NDV measures for the achievement and maintenance of a world without nuclear weapons, assessing existing in-country capabilities, increasing involved countries’ participation in dedicated fora, and creating a new generation of nuclear experts.
