Today, Larry MacFaul stepped down as the editor of VERTIC’s publications series to enable him to focus on his responsibilities as Programme Director for Verification and Monitoring.

Under his editorship, VERTIC re-established Trust & Verify and brought out a diverse range of Briefs and Matters. Those who have worked with him know him as a meticulous and diligent editor who asks the right kind of questions to get the content factually correct and highly readable. His most notable editorial achievement was overseeing the relaunch of the Verification Yearbook, which brought together a wide range of distinguished scholars and practitioners in their respective fields.

Angela Woodward, VERTIC’s Deputy Executive Director, will take over the responsibility for the content and production of the charity’s range of publications, and she will also oversee our broader external relations effort.

Andreas Persbo, our Executive Director, said: “I have been very grateful for Larry’s long standing support as editor of our publications. He has been truly committed to our internal standards of excellence. I wish to thank him, on behalf of the staff and the Trustees, for his service. I am equally pleased that Angela has declared herself willing to take on this burden; she is an experienced researcher, and her reputation in the field of international relations, as well as her previous experience in all aspects of our work, makes her an obvious choice for this effort.”
