Katherine Tajer, Researcher, participated in the International Nuclear Safeguards Engagement Program (INSEP) Sub-regional Workshop for SQP Countries. The workshop took place from March 20-22 in Yangon, including participants from Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar. The workshop brought together different states’ ministries to discuss their experiences implementing both the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA) and Additional Protocol (AP). Funded by the United States’ Department of Energy, the workshop also featured content from the IAEA and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Katherine Tajer presented on the International and National Legal Context for Safeguards, focusing on a number of case-studies to demonstrate how a variety of states meet the provisions of the CSA and AP.
