Description
Government laboratory conducting research into defence against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats on the battlefield or through terrorist attack. The centre also provides scientific support for the development of the BWC and CWC. One of the centre’s three key research areas is the detection, identification and verification of CBR agents. Its special facilities include a verification and analysis suite, mobile analysis facility and specialised CBR laboratories.
The centre was called the Combatant Protection and Nutrition Branch until 2002.
