This section provides direct links to the texts of the major nuclear, biological and chemical weapons treaties and to United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1540 and 1673. You will also find links to related material, such as the texts of official decisions and reports related to a particular treaty or resolution, guidance documents and official literature. Where available, there are links to key documents in the six official languages of the United Nations: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. Some documents, such as the IAP Chemical Weapons Convention Manual, are available in other languages as well.

Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Weapons MATERIALS

Some agreements and resolutions relate to more than one type of weapon. This section focuses on UNSCR 1540 which outlines national implementation measures states should take with regard to nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) weapons, related materials and their means of delivery.

Biological Weapons

Nuclear Weapons AND MATERIALS

This section provides links to the texts of four major treaties related to nuclear material and/or weapons: the 1963 Partial Test Ban treaty (PTBT), the 1968 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the 1980 Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and the 1996 Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). There are also links to subsidiary decisions and agreements, as well as the texts of other nuclear-related agreements and additional information.
