We’re pleased to announce that Sonia Drobysz has been appointed Programme Director for National Implementation effective 22 August 2018.

Sonia has been with VERTIC for over five years, serving first as Legal Officer and then Senior Legal Officer. She was appointed Acting Programme Director in April, following Scott Spence’s departure for the 1540 Committee Group of Experts earlier in the year.
She’s previously held positions as Attaché Temporaire d’Enseignement et de Recherche and Allocataire de Recherche at University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as an associate researcher post at the Centre d’Etudes de Sécurité Internationale et de Maîtrise des Armements.

Sonia holds a Doctor of Philosophy in International Law and Legal Studies as well as a Master’s degree in the same topic, both awarded by Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Andreas Persbo, VERTIC’s Executive Director, said, “I’m exceptionally pleased that Sonia has decided to accept our offer to take up the position of Programme Director. The charity is facing a period of growth, and Sonia’s vision and competence will help guide us and propel us forward in the months and years ahead.”
